RBNZ Director of Specialist Supervision Scott McKinnon delivered the opening remarks at the New Zealand Society of Actuaries - Appointed Actuaries Conference, held on Wednesday 25 June 2025.

Entitled 'Perspective on trends, risks and priorities across the financial and insurance sectors' Scott shared his observations on the insurance sector's current landscape and the importance of looking through uncertainty, the role of the Appointed Actuary as trusted advisor to an entity’s decisionmakers, and the importance of the partnership between Appointed Actuaries and the RBNZ.
