Chief Economist Paul Conway will deliver his annual speech to the Financial Adviser Conference 2026.

About the conference

Mr Conway will provide an in-depth analysis of the cost of living in New Zealand, clarifying the distinctions and interactions between inflation, the price level, and purchasing power. He will look at how the purchasing power of Kiwi households has evolved since the COVID-19 pandemic and compares internationally. He will also discuss the role of monetary policy and other measures in supporting household incomes, as well as giving a brief update on the economy.
